This is an automated technical check of public pages, not legal advice and not a full audit. We read pages without running their scripts, so content a shop adds only with JavaScript may be missed. Thresholds and exemptions apply, so a rule shown here may not apply to every shop. Rules from the Shopproof rule set, version ; rules still being checked are not shown.
How the check works
When you start a check, our server loads the shop's robots.txt and home page, then up to six pages linked from it: the legal notice, a product page, the withdrawal link and the withdrawal policy. It waits between requests and never loads more than eight pages per check. It does not log in, fill in forms, add to cart or run the shop's scripts.
Our requests use the user agent ShopproofScanner/1.0 (+https://shopproof.app/scan/#bot) and come from Amazon Web Services in Frankfurt. We follow robots.txt. Shop owners who do not want to be checked can add:

Disallow: /Each shop can be checked a few times an hour at most, whoever asks. We do not keep the address you enter or the report. We only count, per month, how many checks passed or failed each point, by country and shop system, to publish anonymous figures on how EU shops are doing. Details are in the privacy notice.
