Accessibility statement

Last updated

We want everyone to be able to use shopproof.app, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard only, zoom or high contrast settings. This statement covers the website shopproof.app. The Shopproof plugins and the Shopify app have their own accessibility work, described on the Trust page.

Our target

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, which also covers the European standard EN 301 549 for websites.

How accessible the site is

We believe the site meets WCAG 2.2 level AA, with the exceptions listed below. In particular:

  • Every page can be used with a keyboard alone, starts with a skip link and shows where the keyboard focus is.
  • Pages declare their language, use headings in order and label every form field.
  • Text and controls meet the contrast levels of WCAG AA in light and dark mode.
  • Pages work at 400 percent zoom and on a phone without sideways scrolling, and you can always zoom in.
  • Animations are turned off when your device asks for reduced motion.
  • The site sets no cookies and loads nothing from other websites, so no consent banner gets in the way.

What is not perfect yet

  • On the German, French, Italian and Dutch deadline guides, the menu and footer are in English. They are marked as English, so screen readers read them correctly.
  • Some linked official sources, such as laws on government websites, are outside our control and may not be accessible.

How we test

Before changes go live, automated tests check the pages. On 5 November 2026 we also checked every type of page with the axe accessibility checker at desktop and phone width, with no problems found, and went through the main pages with the keyboard. No outside accessibility audit has been done yet.

Tell us about a barrier

If something on the site does not work for you, or you need information in another format, email hello@shopproof.app. Tell us the page and what went wrong. We aim to reply within five working days.

If you are not happy with our answer, you can contact the Austrian market surveillance authority for accessibility, the Sozialministeriumservice (sozialministeriumservice.gv.at).
